Rise Together 2019 Opportunity Summit Highlights, Videos & Materials

Over 275 change makers and 60 dynamic speakers gathered at Opportunity Summit on May 10, 2019 at San Jose State University. The Opportunity Summit has become the Bay Area's largest and most powerful cross-sector convening on ending poverty through through cross-sector collaboration and the role government, business, philanthropy and community play in making economic security a reality for all Bay Area residents.
This year's summit focus was on Equity, Census 2020 Complete Count, Housing Affordability, Ending Childhood Poverty, Participatory Budgeting, Corporate Social Responsibility, Fair Chance Hiring and Pathways to Employment, Fees & Fines, Opportunity Zones, Upstream Investments and more.

At this year's summit we were introduced to the Bay Area Equity Atlas, a tool for community leaders seeking to create a more equitable, sustainable, and resilient region. Robust, disaggregated data is critical to informing action strategies for equitable growth. Despite the rich data and technology resources in the Bay Area, community leaders have lacked access to the data they need to drive solutions forward. The Bay Area Equity Atlas aims to fill this gap. If you missed the keynote, plenary and breakout sessions on Promise Neighborhoods, Participatory and Budget Justice Coalitions, Eradicating Fees & Fines, Housing Health and Well being, or any others, you can watch the sessions on video and download materials HERE!

Rise Together was proud to release the Fair Chance Workforce report at this year's summit. A critical piece in fighting inequality is ensuring that no one has barriers to employment. Read the full report and recommendations HERE.
